I feel I am getting to know a whole depth of you I never knew existed
And I know it's one-sided, since you haven't read any of my writings (which mostly remain hidden)
It's interesting that you call writing a performance... that you call exposing oneself a performance
I've come to feel that singing (or any self-expressive creation) and the performance of singing are two totally different things
To me, real singing is the one that's not a performance. The one that remains hidden. That's not being heard. That's not affected by who's listening. Even the self is not listening. It's just happening.
Hey Seema! So glad to hear from you. Thank you for your kind words. I would love to read your work too (whenever and only if you ever feel like sharing)
I hear you when you say that "To me, real singing is the one..."
I feel the exact same about dancing, writing, singing and anything and everything creative. It is beautiful to share creative work with others and allow for other people to find meaning in it but I feel the artist is truly creative and performing when they are just doing it out of pure joy within themselves.
I haven't read any of your writings but I absolutely loved reading this bit - "To me, real singing is the one that's not a performance. The one that remains hidden. That's not being heard. That's not affected by who's listening. Even the self is not listening. It's just happening."
It was so f-ing relatable, Rishabh! Even I'm not happy with my growth as a digital writer. I also want to earn more money but I'm also hell confused about whether I should continue with boring B2B writing just because it pays my bills. But then I also pat my heart with love and tell myself, "It's okay. Everyone is figuring out life, yours wouldn't be any different."
Thank you so much for sharing your confusion and for being so vulnerable. I hear you, I really do! I have struggled with these decisions myself in the past 2-3 years and continue to do so. It's always a hard choice to choose between money and meaningful projects. I hope you find meaning and value in whatever you do. Also lot of abundance!
Have been having similar thoughts and feelings for the past few months now and this piece feels personal. You've penned it so well. Even the free time starts feeling guilty. But there's still so much love around. Ek (jaadu) ki jhappi for you Rishabh.
thank you so much, Juhi for taking out the time to read my work and leave such a heartwarming comment. I hope you're feeling better now. Wish you a happy new year :)

Your writing feels so raw and relatable—it’s like having a heart-to-heart with an old friend.
Thank you Divya. This is indeed a heart to heart with a new friend :P
