Welcome Mail (Long Overdue)
A welcome email for those who subscribed before I had a welcome email in place.
It’s been a week since I started writing on Substack, a platform that feels like the perfect place to establish myself as a writer. I've already been inspired by so many other writers here on Substack, and it's truly exciting to be part of this community.
Surprisingly, I already have 40 subscribers, and it's almost unbelievable that people have subscribed to receive my writings, work, and thoughts in their email. It feels like a responsibility on my shoulders that I am not only proud to bear but also feel privileged and grateful for having been bestowed upon.
Last week, I launched Creative Writing Laboratory spaces both online and offline. So far, I've conducted two online sessions and one offline session. I will be writing about my experiences in hosting these sessions in a separate newsletter.
This one is dedicated to the 40 people who subscribed to me before I even had a welcome email.
Perhaps numbers on social media have become so inflated that anything under five figures seems insignificant. I read someone’s insight the other day on how, in the past, having 40 people gathered in a bar or café, eager to hear your work, would have been a huge cause for celebration. In today’s age, social media has skewed our perceptions, making us believe that anything below 100K is not considered viral, substantial, or influential enough.
So, to the 40 people here who trusted my ideas and work, even without having seen much here yet, I wholeheartedly welcome you and every other subscriber who joins us in the future.
I am yet to draft a welcome email for future subscribers, but I plan to do so soon. Until then, this email serves as a welcome to everyone here for trusting and supporting me with your confidence in my work.
Your trust means the world to me.
As a feature of all my newsletters, I will be sharing one song, one book, one plant-based meal, one YouTube video that inspired me, and some photographic updates from my life.
I just finished reading Show Your Work! by
This week I made Millet Pulao for one of my meals and it tasted delicious!
I watched this incredible TED Talk by
A song that got me hooked this week is Gulaabo by Sanjith Hegde!
Lastly, here’s a photograph I took from one of my evening walks.
I love mudhouses and stone houses so while walking whenever I come across one, I mostly always make it a point to document it.
Thank you for your time! If you like what I share, do share it with your friends and family.
If you have any feedback, please write it down in the comments below or message me anytime.
Have a lovely week ahead! Welcome to Creative Writing Library :)
